Jackie was born and raised in South Dakota, graduated from Chamberlain High School, and is enrolled in the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. In high school, she ran cross country, played basketball, and ran hurdles in Track & Field. Jackie went to college at South Dakota State University where she earned her BS in Psychology (2012). During her college years, Jackie became a follower of Christ, and God’s calling on her life became clear—to journey alongside women.
Jackie married her husband Caleb in the summer of 2012, and they both moved to Denver, CO. While in Colorado, she received her master’s degree in Christian Formation & Soul Care from Denver Seminary (2015). In graduate school, God did a lot of sanctifying work in her heart and grew her in greater awareness of ways she could journey alongside women. During their five years in Denver, she led women’s retreats, taught biblical classes and workshops, helped start and contribute to a Christian discipleship website, offered spiritual direction, taught freshmen girls and was the Hurdles Coach at Valor Christian High School.
Jackie loves spending time with her best friend and husband Caleb. They enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, watching good films, quality time with friends, playing board games, and eating ice cream together. Now back in South Dakota, spending time with their families is on the list of favorites too! Reading, warm drinks, and running are some other fun things of hers.
Meeting with women around the state who have a desire to grow in relationship with Christ and serve Him in His kingdom is what she's all about. Whether they are a coach, an athlete, or a lady active in their community, Jackie is inviting young girls and women to be part of what God is doing in FCA, listening to their ideas about what this ministry can look like, and coming alongside them as they grow in greater knowledge of who God is and who He says they are.
For Jackie, it's a huge passion of hers to see women come to faith and grow in their faith. "It is a gift to be able to serve God through the ministry of FCA. There is such a great opportunity to reach female coaches and athletes through the ministry here in South Dakota. I'm excited to see how God works in the lives of women, young and old, across the state."
